Summary

Dr Wayne Reid has a distinguished background in Clinical Neuropsychology. He gained his first degree in Psychology at the University of Reading (Berks) UK. In 1983 he completed an M. Psych. at the University of Sydney and then a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney. He is trained in the assessment of permanent impairment The Motor Accident Authority Core Modules Mental & Behavioural Disorders, Nervous System and The WorkCover New South Wales Core Module, Mental & Behavioural Disorders.

In 1991 he won a prestigious international research award in Rome. Since that time he has published research papers in international journals, has been invited guest speaker and has presented workshops at international and national neuropsychology conferences.
In March 2009 he won a further research award, the Cornelli Award at the 9th International Alzheimer and Parkinsons Research Conference in Prague Czech Republic, for his 20 year prospective study of Dementia in Parkinson's Disease

Dr Reid was appointed Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at the University of Newcastle in 1998 and later moved to become Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Neuropsychiatry at the University of New South Wales. His last academic position before going into full-time Private Practice was Associate Professor in Brain and Mind Sciences in the faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney.

He has over 30 years experience in Clinical Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology specialising in medicolegal assessment in traumatic brain injury, forensic neuropsychology, medical negligence associated with brain injury. In addition he has extensive experience in behavioural treatment and rehabilitation of adults with acquired brain impairment, assessment of adults with ADHD, mental competence and testamentary capacity, memory disorders and dementia, cognitive behaviour therapy in the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders and neuropsychological assessment of mental illness..

He is a registered Psychologist with AHPRA, Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society and Member of the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists and the College of Clinical Psychologists and Member of the International Neuropsychological Society.
