Summary

Dr Wayne Reid has a distinguished background in Clinical Neuropsychology. He gained his first degree in Psychology at the University of Reading (Berks) UK. In 1983 he completed an M. Psych. at the University of Sydney and then a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney. He is trained in the assessment of permanent impairment The University of Sydney Motor Accident Authority Core Modules Mental & Behavioural Disorders, Nervous System and The University of Sydney WorkCover New South Wales Core Module Mental & Behavioural Disorders.

In 1991 he won a prestigious international research award in Rome. Since that time he has published research papers in international journals, has been invited guest speaker and has presented workshops at international and national neuropsychology conferences.
In March 2009 he won a further research award, the Cornelli Award at the 9th International Alzheimer and Parkinsons Research Conference in Prague Czech Republic, for his 20 year prospective study of Dementia in Parkinson's Disease

Dr Reid was appointed Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at the University of Newcastle in 1998 and later moved to become Associate Professor in the Department of Neuropsychiatry at the University of New South Wales. Currently he holds the position of Honorary Senior Research Officer Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute as well as running a fulltime private practice.

He has over 25 years experience in Clinical Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology specialising in medicolegal assessment in traumatic brain injury, forensic neuropsychology and medical negligence associated with birth injury and cerebral palsy. In addition he has extensive experience in behavioural treatment and rehabilitation of children and adults with acquired brain impairment, assessment of children and adults with ADHD, memory disorders, assessment of mental competence and testamentary capacity, cognitive behaviour therapy in the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders and neuropsychological assessment of mental illness.

He is a registered Psychologist with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and Psychologists Board of the ACT, Member of The Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Neuropsychologists and College of Clinical Psychologists and Associate Member of The Australian Association of Neurologists, Member of the International Neuropsychological Society.
